Kawaguchi Yoohei (Japans: 川口洋平), geboren in 1974, is freelance digitaal illustrator die artwork leverde voor de Pokémon-serie. Hij begon bij Pokémon Trading Card Game, met illustraties van Walrein, Hippopotas en Nidorino in de Rising Rivals-uitbreiding. Vaak vermeld onder bijnaam "kawayoo" (川洋) bij zijn werk.
Youhei's stijl valt sterk op, door creatieve aanpak en toewijding aan elke illustratie. Hij bouwt onderwerpen vanaf nul op met grafisch tablet in beeldbewerkingssoftware, met honderden lijnen voor basisvormen, contouren, achtergronden en details. Resultaat: vaak surrealistische, zware, gelaagde beelden die aan olieverfschilderijen doen denken. Zijn beelden focussen vaak op spierdefinitie, expressie of contrast, met thema's beïnvloed door cyberpunk of anime. De Pokémon die hij afbeeldt zijn vaak zeer gedetailleerd, levendig en in dynamische poses, waaronder de Pokémon-kaarten, waarvoor hij alle artwork leverde (behalve LV.X-varianten).
